What's Brewing

We recently went to Guatemala to visit some of our favorite coffee farmers and producers. Read about our trip and learn about Lucinda Puac Pérez.

Our head roaster had the privilege to go on an origin trip to Guatemala with our friends at Huckleberry Roasters. We visited our farmers within the AProCafe El Grano Growers Association. Huckleberry has been working with the AProCafe Association since 2016, which has allowed us to develop strong connections with the farmers and producers. Because of this we are able to sustainably buy coffee, while providing fair wages to the farmers and producers.

The AProCafe Association is located in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. This region in Guatemala is considered to have one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Lake Atitlán is surrounded by mountainous country and several volcanoes. With an elevation around 1,500 meters and ample shaded hillsides, the Lake Atitlán area is one of the most desirable places to grow coffee in Guatemala.

One of the most prominent farmers in the association is Lucinda Puac Peréz (pictured to the left). She is a 3rd generation coffee farmer and excels at growing and producing coffee. Every year she continues to impress us with her crops and it is a coffee that we always look forward to having. We have carried her coffee for 6 years now and it is a longstanding staff and customer favorite. We will have her coffee available as retail bags in shop or online. Be sure to grab yourself some and brew it at home!
