Bolivia Celso Mayta

This is our second coffee we brought in through partnership with our friends at St. Frank Coffee who has been buying from them since 2014.  Celso began his coffee journey at the age of 3 on his family’s farm in 1975 but struggle as a producer almost ready to give up on coffee until the Cup of Excellence.  Celso’s original farm Golondrina saw much success in the Cup of Excellence era in Bolivia from 2005-2009 placing as high as 2nd.  His success growing quality coffee and also partnering with Invalsa has led him to expand into a nearby colonia called Fortin where he has 2 hectares of Icatu, Catuai, and Geshe. 

This new farm and wet mill is a 50/50 partnership with Invalsa designed to expand to neighboring farmers for better specialty market connection.  Celso Mayta is one of the most well-established, quality focused producers in Bolivia and this coffee has a wonderful red apple acidity, with lots of tropical fruit notes throughout, the whole body and mouthfeel is creamy and has a milk chocolate taste.  You’ll love this coffee.
